A new camp site that opened in 2011. The camp site is located on the left side when arriving to Hellissandur from the town Rif
The campsite at Hellissandur is located just outside the village in one of Snæfellsbær's many natural treasures. There is an excellent service building at the campsite with cooking facilities, sink area, toilets, and shower.
From the campsite, there are enjoyable hiking routes and access to beautiful beaches with all the adventures they offer. The sunsets over Breiðafjörður are incomparable, and Snæfellsjökull glacier watches over guests.
The Visitor Center for Snæfellsjökull National Park stands next to the campsite.
The campsite also has a playground for children. It's a short distance to a jumping pillow, soccer field, disc golf course, and the Tröð forestry area. Shops and services in Hellissandur are within walking distance from the campsite.
