The camp site Lífsmótun is unique in Iceland. Instead of camping somewhere in an open field every guest has its own stand. Most of the stands are between 80 – 100 square meters so it is easy to have space for one tent or a mobile home. Trees and bushes are around the stands.

A few stands have electricity so it is best to reserve a stand before. In the service house there are toilets and showers with a sink for washing the dishes. Guests are encouraged to recycle all garbage and there is also a waste disposal. At the information board there are informaton on activities close by as well as opening times for stores and swimming pools.
The aim is that the camp site is a place where the peace and quiet of the country side is enjoyed and the only thing to disturb is games and laughter from children. To get to the camp site you turn from highway 1 on road 846 towards Laugar. When you cross the bridge you turn right. In the middle of the slope you turn right (south) into an unmarked gravel road and drive to the end, about 2 km. Opening time
