The camp site in Laugardalur, Reykjavík now offers their guests to stay in Reykjavík Safari Camping. There are four tents and they are spacious and comfortable. The tents look a little like you would remember from safari tents in old movies. In each tent there is a made up bed for two, wifi and two chairs. It therefor combines the luxury of staying in a bed with the adventures of going camping.
This is new in Icelandic tourism and Laugardalur camp site is offering it in a partnership with the company Rent-A-Tent.
The camp site in Laugardalur, Reykjavík is the largest place offering accommodation in Iceland and it can take up to 950 guests. This year the opening time is a little longer and opened on the 1st of may for the first time. It will remain open until the 30th of september.
The camp site is popular among those who want to travel around Iceland in a responsible manner by biking, hiking or using public transport. The summer 2012 the camp site was awarded the Earth Check assessed status for its job in environmental issues such as waste disposal, water consumption and the use of chemicals. It is the first camp site in Iceland being awarded the Earth check awards.
