The campground in Ásbyrgi is closed over the winter, from November to late April. There is a large camp site in Ásbyrgi for tents, camping folders and mobile homes. In the service house there are 4 showers for men and 4 for women.
The national park is open to guests all year round. It has a big camp site for tents, folding campers and mobile homes. In the western valley (Vesturdal) there is a beautiful camp site with less service, it is open from 10th of june to the 15th of september. The camp site in Ásbyrgi is open from 15th of may to the 15th of september.

There you can find information and also a display on Ásbyrgi and Jökulsárgljúfur.
There are many great walking paths in Ásbyrgi. During the summer there are also educational trips, evening walks, camp fire during the first weekend in august and much more.
The camp site must be quiet between 23:00 – 07:00.
The toilets are wheelchair accessible.

1500 ISK electricity at campsite pr. night
· Up to and including six persons may overnight in each space
· The fee is either for a space with access to electricity or for a space without access to electricity.
· Senior citizens (67 years and older) and disabled persons are entitled to a 20% discount of overnighting fees collected.
*The electrical connection is solely for use of electric appliances within the designated space.
