Egilsstaðir Campsite is open all year round with Laundromat, toilet, shower and kitchen facilities open 24/7. The campsite is well located under beautiful cliffs in the towns center close to great varidity of shops, restaurants and servics. Egilsstaðir is a town in eastern Iceland with population around 2300 people and is called the capital of east Iceland. There are a lot of beautiful nature all around Egilsstaðir which makes Egilsstaðir a great destination with the possibility of taking day trips to many places in eastern Iceland. It is a short trip f.ex. to the forest Hallormsstaðaskógur, Skriðuklaustur, Hengifoss, the wilderness center, to the town Seyðisfjörður and Borgarfjörður (that is famous for puffins). Also closed to Stuðlagil. The natural hot springs Vök Baths are only in 4 km distance and the highland is at the doorstep f.ex. with Laugarfell which is north of Mt. Snæfell with its hot tub. Nearest cave can be found behind the waterfall Fardagafoss, in 5 minutes drive distance.
The service available at the campsite is excellent. The cozy service room that is open 24/7 all year round has kitchen with 8 stoves to cook, kettle, microwawe and toaster. It has a big room to sit down in sofas and with tables and chairs for eating&drinking. It has a laundromat with 9 washing machines and 9 dryers. (You can pay with card or cash). There are 7 showers, 14 WC (also for disabled) in the facility room. You can ice cream, coffee/tea and maps&books from the area. You can borrow a hairdryer and rent or buy a towel if you forgot yours.
Outside there are many camping spot with access to electricity. There are facilities for dish washing and a playground for the children. There are 2 stoves in a sheltered area where you can cook as well as benches and tables.
From the begginning of June to the end of August the info center is open all days between 07.00 – 23.00. Shorter opening hours during other months.
Swimmingpool is in 1km distance from campsite as well as a jumping pillow in Tjarnargardur for the kids.
The Camp reception is open from 7:00-23:00 from the beginning of June to end of August but with a shorter opening hours other months.

1st of June – 31st of August from 8:00 to 17:00 (ALL days)
1st of September – 30th to September from 8:30 to 15:00 (only weekdays)
