The camp site is about 2 km from highway number 1. You turn off the highway by the waterfall Seljalandsfoss and drive on for about 2 km until you see the camp site on the right hand side.
See more information here below.
The camp site at Hamragarðar is with out a doubt one of the most beautiful camp sites in Iceland. With the waterfalls Gljúfrabúi and Seljalandsfoss close by it makes it very easy to enjoy the nature. A walk on top of the small mountain Fagrafell with a great view over the mountains Eyjafjöll is also good. The camp site is divided into the upper and lower area. There is a service house on the lower area but there are also toilets on the upper area. The facilities at Hamragarðar are excellent. In the service house by the lower area there are toilets, washing machines and cooking facilities. The house at the higher area has toilets and showers.
By the service house there is a slider and a swing. By the camp site is the waterfall Gljúfrabúi that you must visit. The river from Gljúfrabúa will have a walking path this summer so it is possible to get to the waterfall mostly without getting wet. For those who want to go in the river on their way to the waterfall that is still an option.Opening dates
