Description of facilities

The town Seyðisfjörður is a beautiful town and the first stop for many tourists arriving in Iceland. The ferry Smyril Line stops in Seyðisfjörður. The population is about 700 people. The golden age of the town was around 1900. The ecenomy has mostly been connected to the sea with the herring coming and going. The USA navy had a base in Seyðisfjörður with historic results and the tourism has grown very much in the last decade. Close to the camp site there is alot to do, for example good walkways, nine hole golf course, open playground for kids, swimming pool, kayak sailing and much more.

The camp site is located close to the center of town. It is surrounded with trees and divided into smallar areas. It is well located but close to the camp site there is a grocery store, craftsmans market, swimming pool, restaurants, sport center, sauna and hot tubs. Shorter and longer walkways are close by as well as the possibility of fishing of the pier or going to the shore. Close by is also the technical museum of east Iceland, Skaftfell cultural center and many cultural events taking place all year round.

The camp site has great facilities for tents, mobile homes and folding campers. A new service house has showers, washing machine, tumble dryer, cooking facilities and a seating area.

The age limit is 18 years unless travelling with adults.
