The camp site has five different areas to camp at. At one area, Flatargerði, there are showers and toilets for the disabled.

Sheltered and nice camp sites for tents, mobile homes and folding campers. There is electricity in the area called Stórarjóðri as well as , Hróarsstaðanesi, Flatagerði. There is also a playground in those areas. In the service houses there are toilets, warm water and showers as well as toilets for the disabled in Flatagerði. A waste disposal is also at Vaglaskógur. A small grocery store is at the camp site selling with common necessities.
The forest Vaglaskógur is one of the most beautiful forests in Iceland with many walking paths and a lot of opportunity for outdoor activity.
How to get here:
From Akureyri is about 35 km to Vaglaskógur. You drive highway no 1, towards east from Akureyri, over Víkurskarð and over the bridge on the river Fnjóská. From there you take road 833 into the valley Fnjóskárdalur for about 5 km where you reach Vaglaskógur.Opening time
