The scenery around the camp site is divers, good flat areas and lava tubs that offer good shelter. The camp site is about 1 km from the lake and not many trees, that results in low number of gnat flies at the camp site.
The camp site has first class facilities. Sinks with hot and cold water are located on several places around the camp site, 2 toilet houses and 1 shower house. Electricity is available around the site but has an extra fee. There are not many trees in the area but the area is cosy. The area is about 1 km from lake Mývatn so there are not alot of flies at the camp site. A small store is at the area where it is possible to buy candy, soda, dairy products and post cards. A large kitchen tent is also at the camp site.
