Hólar in the valley Hjaltadalur is one of the more historic sites in Iceland and a popular tourist attraction. The history, sanctity and the natural beauty all work together to attract people to Hólar. In the forest there are many small areas the provide good shelter for tents and mobile homes. There are many walking paths in the area as well as a restaurant and a swimming pool.
The campsite has toilets and facilities with hot and cold running
water. There is no electricity available and that is one of the
factors that make the campsite the charming location it is.
The campsites in Sauðárkrókur, Hofsós, Hólar and Varmahlíð are working
together. You can therefore stay the first night in any of the
campsites and the next night in any of the others at our discounted
rate, so please remember where you keep your ticket :)
