The camp site is locates in the village Hauganes. The village is small, quiet and safe.

The campsite is in a quiet location in the small village of Hauganes by the outer Eyjafjörður bay, about a 20-minute drive from Akureyri and 10 minutes from Dalvík.
At the campsite, there are restrooms, showers, dishwashing facilities, washing machine electrical outlets, a short distance to the Baccalá bar restaurant, a playground with new equipment, and a beautiful sandy beach with hot tubs and shower facilities known as Fjöruböðin Beach baths Hauganes. New restrooms are now available by the tubs. In the summer of 2025, 36 new electrical outlets will be installed in campsite area 2, which is a flat and nice meadow above the older area.
Information and payment charges can be found at fjorubodin.is, but it is also possible to pay at the new service house by the tubs, which has a card machine and sells drinks, ice cream, and souvenirs, or at Baccalá bar in Hauganes. Please be prepared for our staff to ask to see a receipt for payment.
In addition to the restaurant, the Hauganes origin Ektafiskur fish shop and a souvenir shop operate in the same building at the harbour, beside Baccalá bar restaurant. In the village, there is also the famous whale watching Whales.is that sails organized tours several times a day during the summer months.
There is an age limit of 18 at the campsite unless accompanied by an adult guardian.

Kids 6-12 years: 1.000 ISK
Senior citizens/disabled individuals 2,500 kr.
5 years & younger: Free!
Electricity 2,000 kr. Pr. day.
